Dads are a girl’s first hero and love. He is there to catch us as we take our first steps. He is there to put up with our teenage moods. He is there to watch us grow as the lines on his face deepen. But most importantly he is always there to love us and we’re always there to love him back. Happy Father’s Day!
Our glamorous #JABride (and daddy’s girls) shared their most special father-daughter wedding day moments with us:
Having my dad walk me down the aisle to meet my future husband and give me away was a blessing. I am his baby girl and always will be, but that day he placed all his trust in my husband to take care of me for the rest of our lives. To me, there is nothing more special than the blessing of my father. I love him to the moon and back!
I’m so thankful my dad was able to come home from overseas so he could be there for my wedding day. I couldn’t imagine being able to walk down the aisle without him. He was the proudest and happiest father in the world that day.
I am so thankful for my dad and for all of his love, support and generosity which truly made our wedding day perfect. One of my favorite and emotional parts of my wedding day was getting out of the limo and walking down the aisle arm in arm with my dad to meet my husband.
My father was quite ill and unable to walk me down the aisle or dance with me on my wedding day, but just having him there was special. Thankfully, I have an awesome stepfather who has been an amazing role model for the last 15 years of my life; he walked me down the aisle and danced with me for the father-daughter dance.
I had the chance to marry at the iconic Saint Paul’s Cathedral in London and that chance was purely down to my father being awarded an MBE medal in 1999 by the Queen. My wedding day was a moment where we were both proud of each other, my dad for normal dad reasons, and me; because I am very proud of the man he is.
My dad was with me when I was born. He was with me when I made mistakes. And was with me when I started a new life. He is my best friend.
My dad is one of my best friends. We run together, bike together and speak on the phone at least three or four times a day! So there would’ve been nobody else who could possibly given me away. He had every single guest in floods of tears with his speech, something only my dad had the words to do. Nobody knows me better.
My dad is truly the most amazing man I know. I am confident that no man could be a better father to four girls than he is! He has loved all four of us so well through every stage of life. He is the most compassionate, generous and kind man I know. He is a man of high integrity and respect who has always shown me and others how to be faithful and trust and follow Jesus Christ in every area of life. He set the bar incredibly high when it came to dating. He is extremely wise and discerning, so knowing that I had his support and encouragement as I married the man of my dreams made my wedding day everything I could have imagined it to be and more!
He made it so special by just being there, as with both of my parents, they’re always there for anything I have ever needed. He’s super dad! He’s also a busy dad giving three daughters away in 14 months.
Being in the car with my dad was a very special moment. Especially when he walked me down the aisle.
