The Something Blue Shoppe is our latest Bridal Salon Spotlight and will soon celebrate being in business for 45 years.
Something Blue Shoppe’s location was once a bank but it has been transformed into a charming bridal salon that offers a mix of vintage charm with a modern touch. Sarah Morris, owner of Something Blue Shoppe, bought the established bridal store 25 years ago with a vision to provide brides throughout the southeast the very best wedding gowns at an affordable price. Their gorgeous collection of wedding dresses and unparalleled personal service has catapulted them to becoming the top store for brides. Something Blue Shoppe also offers elegant wedding dresses, shoes and accessories for the entire bridal party.
The Something Blue Shoppe sets themselves apart by creating an experience that is all about the bride. The consultants really do listen and cater to the bride 100%. Sarah believes that “the wedding dress is such an important part of the wedding day, it must be what the bride loves and feels beautiful in. Not just what we think she would like. This is why each bride is assigned her own personal consultant who will help her find that special gown.”
The consultants at Something Blue Shoppe believe the shopping experience should be special, and somewhat private. It should be a once in a lifetime experience for the bride and her mother or whomever she really depends on for advice. Sarah explains that sometimes “when the bride brings too many friends and relatives with her, she becomes confused and seeks to please them, rather than herself. We suggest that after she makes the final selection, she can then bring those friends in to see what she chose.”
Sarah’s favorite Justin Alexander gown is 8627. “I love it because it is an all Alencon lace gown. The sweetheart neckline and soft A-line skirt are beautiful on all different size girls. It gives the tiny bride some curves while at the same time seems to diminish the size of a larger bride. The fabric buttons down the back and length of the train are icing on the cake. Another reason I love it is that my very good friend, Terri Hilferty, designed this beautiful piece.”
